Support community radio by making a pledge to CFCR's FM-Phasis 2010!

Hello everyone!! We are depending on you, our fabulous listeners, to make pledges to this year's FM-Phasis campaign in the name of our show (Monday Green Eggs and Ham 6-8 Edition with Camille and Janelle). Below you will find some background information on FM-Phasis, a list of prizes you will be eligible for, and instructions on how to make your pledge.

What is FM-Phasis and why should you make a pledge?
FM-Phasis is the Community Radio Society of Saskatoon's annual two-week on-air fundraising campaign. This year it commences Saturday September 18th and runs until Friday Octoberst. We (Camille and Janelle) will be hosting one show during this time (Monday September 20th).  Our show's goal is to raise at least $4 per minute of on-air time during FM-Phasis, which totals $480! There is no donation too big or small - every donation is appreciated!

FM-Phasis is essential to CFCR's existence, as it accounts for approximately a quarter of CFCR's annual operating budget, raising approximately $50,000 per year. The funds raised during past FM-Phasis campaigns have been directed toward continued improvements and upgrades for the station, including: moving to a new and improved location, new studio equipment, production studio renovations, a 1480-watt transmitter, and webcasting.

This year's campaign theme is "Community Radio - Living Stereo," and the goal is $60,000. If you love music and appreciate the work of the volunteer hosts at CFCR (Voted Saskatoon’s Best Radio Station by Readers of Planet S EVERY YEAR the survey has been done), please support us by donating to this campaign! All donations are sincerely appreciated!!

Playlist for September 6, 2010

My brother-in-law Brad seems to have developed a mysterious migratory pattern that finds him in Saskatoon on a bi-weekly basis, so he co-hosted the show once again.  Janelle was elsewhere in Saskatchewan getting rained on in a tent, so we preferred being in the comfort of the studio (once Franny arrived to turn on the heat, it was even more cosy).  This rainy, grey Labour Day brought out the mellow in us, as evidenced in our playlist.  We highly recommend listening to these songs accompanied by some warm tea and a fire place.

It was nice to actually do a show together after a summer of solo efforts, and Brad shared co-hosting duties once again.  The sadness of summer's departure is softened by the promise of an abundance of fall concerts.  Today's show included just a sampling of some of the acts coming to town in the next few months.  CFCR has brought in a lot of great bands for our annual FM-Phasis fundraiser, so be sure to check out some of these shows at Amigos - Blitzen Trapper, Cuff the Duke, Yukon Blonde, and The Wooden Sky just to name a few.  There is no shortage of good music to make the return to school/university/shorter days/cooler weather more enjoyable!

Playlist for August 9, 2010

I love summer shows, when waking up at 5 am and hopping on your bike doesn't seem like such a chore.  My bro-in-law, Brad, willingly joined in this morning routine, and provided excellent company and music choices in Janelle's absence.  This might be our folkiest show to date, as both Brad and I were filled with ideas from this past weekend's Regina Folk Festival.  We also fit in some favourites from past folk festivals.  Brad suggested that an outdoor rooftop studio would be quite suited to days like this; CFCR, is this in the budget?
