Playlist March 21 2011

We welcomed today, the first official day of spring, with the promise of an impending snow storm.  Hey Rosetta's latest album Seeds encompasses the sentiments associated with the long-awaited transition from winter to spring, and it will make for some inspirational listening while we wait for the grass to peek out from under the snow.  In the meantime, I'm enjoying some spring skiing and Janelle has officially ditched the gloves and toque.  Highlights of today's show included:
1)we both arrived at the station on time
2)Radiohead and TV on the Radio have new albums out
3)coffee and pain au chocolat.  Thank you, Souleio Foods, for being just a few flights of stairs away.
And thank you, listeners, for tuning in.  Phone in a request once in awhile to let us know you exist!

A big thanks to Greg, who filled in for Camille, who was away today.  Thanks to all of the listeners who tuned in from around the world to listen in on this morning's show.  Although I detest the early morning wake-up, once I get to the studio I am always glad to be there.  I have to say that listening to a couple of hours of great music is an awesome way to start of a cold winter week.  It might be fair to say that we are obsessed with the Tallest Man on Earth, seeing as he made our playlist twice this week.  Oh yes, and we love our moms and all great moms out there!

P.S.  Upon checking out our blog stats, it has come to our attention that we have somewhat curious following from Denmark.  If you are checking out this blog from Denmark, fire us an email and make a request.  We'd love to hear from you!

Playlist December 27 2010

Doing an early morning radio show during the holidays is a double edged sword.  Is anyone actually listening on a Monday morning when you deservedly should be sleeping in?  On the plus side, we got to go for breakfast afterwards instead of rushing off to work, so this was officially our breakfast show.  We only played one breakfast-themed song, but we sure talked about bacon and eggs more than usual while the songs were playing.  This wasn't a best of 2010 list - we'll leave that to the people at Pitchfork and Exclaim.  However, we managed to fit in a lot of stuff released in the last year because we liked it, and we hope you do too.  See you in 2011!

Angus and Julia Stone - The Devil's Tears
*Arcade Fire - Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)
*Olenka and the Autumn Lovers - Motel Blues
